How Do You Pick $500 Worth of Huckleberries in One Morning?

Huckleberry fever is real, and there is no cure. This trip we left before sunrise, prayed our way up the mountain, and parked the Soaring Eagle Aerie 8 right in the middle of the huckleberry fields.

By lunch we had a 5 gallon bucket nearly full. At the prices wild huckleberries sell for around Spokane, that is about 500 dollars of berries in one morning. Along the way: marching orders at dawn, a road crew flagger with good news, the Queen of the Huckleberries, and how Christian earned the title of Huckleberry Husband.
